Announcing the demolition run, to take place at Bar Bodega this Tuesday, 20 August. During the last week of its existence.

A glorious run to celebarate a transportation mode taking a shortcut through down town, and in the process wiping out a nuimber of landmark buildings. Sorta like September 11 really. In fact so much like September 11, we are also calling it the September 11 run. Just its not on September 11 or anything. And not much point having it on September 11 as everyone knows terrorists are blowing the world up that day.

Anyway, your hares, Sluggie, Sproggy, DT, Mildew, Duck, Delilah, Screw Ya and Ghastly Nasalbum invite you to a run anticipated to be a lot like September 11. A catastrophe. Total chaos. An absolute shambles. Come dressed as your favourite September 11 character.....such as an air hostess (pre- or post-crash), President Bush, Osama Bin Laden (yes, thats you Bin Goldfish), a Fireman, Charcoal, or even the mysterious Mr Blobby.

Run Reports

Run 1400 - with Ayatollah's amendments - has recently been sent out to the mailing list due to slackness of the On Sec but here it comes again. Not every run is the 1400th!

Run 1400

Good turn out with a promise of 7 piss stops. Thinking a typical TC run through bush in creeks etc? but no, what a surprise! A run never to have been missed. Around a few streets then piss stop at Ayotollahs, home of Younger and Goodyear informing us that the gutters in the street were very comfortable for sleeping. On, on.

Behind the church, just up the road, then the piss stops got closer and closer. Down to walkers pace. At these stops there was a good selection of drink warmers as the night was cold with a threatening frost and no wind. Everybody was in good spirits after having few spirits. Back to the boozer and a fine meal and teapots. Long awaited hash gear distribution which went down a beauty because the night was cold. On with the down downs and the normal stuff came out with everybody in good spirits and it was nice to see some new and old faces there.

The 1400 run was an excellent run and a great night had by all.

...thus spake PussyPuppy! Good job he is a better chef than he is a scribe - but trash is trash and gratefully received. As the commandments say, he who findeth fault with the scribe shall surely take his place.

But the Ayatollah would like to add to the above record of this vaguely auspicious occasion:

WELLINGTON HASH - 1400 RUNS TODAY. Quite a lot actually!

Hares: TC and Numbnuts.

Temperature: Jeezis shat! Fucken cold or wot!

Run and piss stops: If you are going to set mega-pisstops in sub-arctic conditions, this is the way to do it. TC/Numbnuts set a run that took off at a fast and furious pace thru Wainui suburbia which got the pack well warmed up and knocked off over half the run before the first piss-stop. This was outside 10 Rowe Parade - birthplace of your esteemed (maybe not) Ayatollah - who was actually not raised in the gutter where the drinks were served, but the Ayatollah is no longer on friendly terms with the neighbours, having departed the premises 37 years ago. Not sure what he of the house made arriving home to find Wellington Hash lined up outside in an otherwise quiet and unlit street. He didn't say anything - probably just went in to check the weapon collection (everyone in Wainui is armed to the teeth aren't they TC). From there it was more or less on-back to the pub - with the small matter of 6 more piss-stops en route. I think these involved beers, peach schnapps, Canterbury cream, port - that sort of stuff. Suffice to say a run of respectable hash length with 7 piss-stops was all over in an hour (and a bit). It was that cold.

On-on: Food did not take long to appear. Ayatollah thought this was a shit-hot feed, tho' some dissenting remarks have been subsequently heard. But there was a formidable pile of tucker going begging at one end of the bar - maybe you had to move about a bit. Be that as it may, New boots and returnees were welcomed.

Welcome back to some faces seldom seen at Wellington Hash - Flash visiting from Shanghai, Muted Pig visiting from Kapiti and PussyGorilla from phuknosewhere.

Also: new runners Dave and Yvonne - Dave being some auto-sparkie HighHeels knows - emerged for a run in their locale.

GT presented the new hash clobber - which the Ayatollah has been living in since then. Oggy got 6 short-down-downs for the way he had stitched up GT at Brix the Friday night before.

Mildew, Gnash, the Duck and Peeler were down-downed for reasons that escape me.

TC presented a few of his own in relation to the previous weekends hash tramp - not least the tramping style of Puha and Furburger who marched in at night with one dodgy torch, very little warm gear and several dozen cans of beer! And Modess Joe who abandoned Boon to take off after some Sheila who'd been staying at the hut. Insists he never caught up with her - we believe everything Joe tells us.

And it was Numbnuts 200th as well as WH3's 1400th!
